Eixample is a safe and residential part of the city but there is also a vibrant nightlife and a thriving caf culture. Eixample is a beautiful place to wander around, watch the glorious architecture and the Spanish inhabitants from a terrace. Paseo de Gracia is the main street in this area which is the beating heart of Barcelona. This is the most emblematic street in Barcelona within walking distance from Las Ramblas, Plaza de Catalua and Diagonal Avenue. Nowadays Paseo de Gracia is famous for being home to the majority of Barcelonas Art Nouveau masterpieces, and a high-class residential and shopping area. Along this road La Pedrera and Casa Batllo are located; two of Gaudis characteristically dreamlike buildings. Rambla de Catalunya is a another major street in the area Eixample and one of the city\\\'s trendiest streets, with many international fashion shops and lined with lime trees and caf terraces. It can be seen as an extension of the famous Las Ramblas. Barcelona has something to offer to everyone: the most adventurous and the most relaxed, for beach and mountain lovers, for art enthusiasts and for those who enjoy the day or who come alive at night. |
